Mr. Matthew Yeomans serves as the Director of the Malta Critical Infrastructure Directorate. He played an active role in transposing the EU Directive 2016/1146/EC, commonly referred to as the NIS1 Directive, into L.N 216 of 2018. As part of his responsibilities, he represented Malta in EU-Level multilateral meetings organized by the European Commission, where he safeguarded Malta’s interests regarding the Commission’s ongoing dossiers.

L.N 216 of 2018 formally designated Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), with CSIRTMalta being appointed as Malta’s national CSIRT. In this capacity, Mr. Yeomans served as a team leader, overseeing operations to support Critical Infrastructure (CIIs), OESs, and CSIRTs.

He serves as the primary contact within the NIS cooperation group and is a member of the National Cyber Security Strategy Steering Committee (NCSS). Notably, he contributed to the recent publication of the second Maltese Cybersecurity Strategy for 2023-2026 by the NCSS.
