The purpose of the workshop was to present the preliminary NaTech risk analysis conducted in Malta in 2017 and to launch a more comprehensive NaTech risk assessment study. The workshop brought together representatives of Malta's Seveso facilities, The Civil Protection Department, COMAH, and NaTech experts from the JRC. The workshop started with introductions, followed by a discussion of NaTech accidents and NaTech risk assessment, including RAPID-N, the JRC's NaTech risk assessment online tool. Seveso facility operators, briefly presented their approach on natural hazard risk, with a view to establishing the foundation for a more comprehensive study. This was followed by an outline of the methodology of the comprehensive NaTech risk analysis and a Q&A session intended to customize the risk analysis to the specific needs of each facility present at the workshop.
